If you request to become a Member of the ELLA Learning Alliances we will collect the following personal information from you in order to consider whether you should be granted Membership of the ELLA Learning Alliance and so assisting us in establishing a User Profile for you containing such information:

 

Your name, job title and field of work

Contact information including email or postal address

Demographic information such as postcode, country of residence, gender, age group, preferences and interests

Your organisation’s name and website

Other information relevant to ascertaining what you would like to gain from membership of ELLA Learning Alliances

Other information relevant to ELLA’s activities (including user surveys) or your interests

 

How We Use Your Personal Information

We require this information to understand your needs and to provide you with a better service.  Specifically we use your personal information for the following reasons:

 

Internal record keeping

To improve our knowledge information service and/or customise our website to focus on what are the specific areas of interest for particular groups of users in various geographical locations. We may do this by emailing you a user survey

To send you promotional emails about new published content on our website where you have specifically expressed an interest in receiving such communications

To inform you of sector developments and events which might include invitations to visit/study programmes and workshops in Latin America run by our Regional Centres of Expertise, where applicable

Click on ‘Unsubscribe’ at the bottom of one of the notification emails and follow the instructions;

On the website header, click on ‘Email notifications from ELLA’, select ‘Unsubscribe’, enter you email address and click ‘Send’. You will then receive an email from ELLA asking you to confirm that you would like to unsubscribe;

How We Share Your Personal Information

The personal information you provide will not be shared outside of PAC unless you give us express consent to do so.   Such consent may be in writing to us or may take the form of you uploading your personal information directly onto your Member Profile within the restricted Learning Alliance spaces of the ELLA website.  Member Profile information for Members within a particular Learning Alliance

is available for other Members to see within that particular Learning Alliance.  Members are encouraged to update their Member Profiles with the following information:

 

A photograph of themselves

Short biography

Contact phone number

Personal website/blog address (if applicable)

Link to Twitter account (if applicable)

 

In order to provide services to you, we may pass your personal information to parties located outside of the European Economic Area in countries which do not have data protection laws equivalent to those in the UK.  Where this is the case we will take reasonable steps to ensure the privacy of your information.

Except in the situations listed above or as required by law or other regulation, we will not pass, disclose or sell your personal information to any third party without your prior consent.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure.  We have a Group-wide Data Protection Policy and strict internal procedures designed to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, improper use, alteration, unintended destruction or other loss.
